Whitening Magic Solution
I read a tutorial on another blog a few weeks ago about how to remove tough stains from white clothing using a combination of inexpensive things from your house. I am usually skeptical of anything claiming to be a miracle stain remover or cleaner, but I decided to give this one a try. Well, I’m convinced on this one! I tried it out on some of hubby’s dress shirt collars that had been getting pretty dingy despite my normal stain removers and washing, and wow! What a difference!
Recipe:
1 part Dawn dish soap
2 parts hydrogen peroxide
Some baking soda (I used about a tablespoon into a small glass jar)
Directions:
Pour or spoon some of the mixture directly onto the stained area. Use a small scrub brush to work it into the fabric really well (this works best on stiffer fabrics … Be careful if you scrub a knit fabric because it will start to pill easily). I let the shirts sit for about an hour before washing in hot water with normal detergent.
What do you think?
