Padded Tablet Case
My husband asked me a couple of days ago if I could make a case for his new Surface computer so that it wouldn’t bounce around in his briefcase on the way to work. This was a fun challenge for me because of the custom dimensions and chance to make something really functional for him. I found an inspiration pattern here that I followed for the basic construction, but I made some modifications along the way. The case is very well padded (2 layers of batting on each side) and has a pocket on the back for phone, USB drive, stylus, pens, etc. I used a plain gray cotton for the outside and a bright flannel on the inside, with some coordinating quilting stitching. The computer fits in quite snugly, and the Velcro flap on top makes sure it’s not going anywhere.
I love the endless possibilities for this project. It could be customized to fit any computer or e-reader and spruced up with any combination of fabrics or quilting designs. I can’t wait to make one for my Kindle!
