Lizard Ridge Baby Blanket
I have been procrastinating on this blanket for months and finally finished it a couple of weeks ago. I had searched for a long time for a stash-busting project that could incorporate all the left-over yarn I had from an afghan years ago. While this pattern is beautiful and I love how the blanket turned out, I would never do it again. I hate short rows! There was so much turning back and forth to make each of those pretty little ridges. Give me complicated cables any day!
Now I just need to search for a great colorful fabric to sew onto the back of the blanket and it will be all set for a baby shower gift!
The pattern is based on this one. I used this chart to scale up the pattern for a blanket – basically tripling the dishcloth pattern. I started with a cast-on of 127 stitches and then finished the blanket with a couple rounds of crochet border. Definitely a fun stash-buster project if you don’t mind a lot of short rows!
