Giving Thanks

Last weekend we had the privilege of hosting a Thanksgiving celebration with a number of friends from law school, church, and work.  We are so blessed to have wonderful friends to share holidays with here!  We had an enjoyable afternoon and evening together despite eating 2 hours late because of my slow-cooking turkey.  I was particularly thankful for all the delicious dishes everyone brought!   And we owe a special thanks to Nathan for taking some Thanksgiving pictures for the second year in a row!

Yummy appetizers! Kristi and I had the same idea about deviled eggs ;-).

We also had some hot mulled cider … the house smelled so good!

Everyone was so gracious as we waited and waited for the turkey to finish cooking.

We eventually got the bird out of the oven and set the table…

Turkey!

And finally the turkey was ready to be carved!

We were all too full to move after dinner!  Even Joseph looked ready for another nap.  He was so sweet and well-behaved all evening!

Joseph!

And after an hour of digestion we finally felt ready for some pie, but we didn’t get very far.  Everything tasted great the next day though!

Yum!

Thank you again to all our friends for spending the evening with us!
