A Festive Weekend
We have our very first Christmas tree!! Following our Thanksgiving stupor last weekend, we (and by “we” I mostly mean “I”) quickly switched into Christmas decorating mode and started decking out our apartment. A trip to Home Depot on Saturday morning found us with a cute little tree that fit conveniently in the back seat of our car. I was thrilled to get it home and decorate it with the ornaments that have been sitting in our closet for a year and a half now (finally!!).

I also got to hang up the stockings that I made for us :-). I found a snowflake pattern I liked online, and then Jon suggested that it would look like poinsettias if I just inverted the colors, so now we have pseudo-matching stockings for Christmas!
I had a lot of fun making this ornament wreath (inspired by this tutorial) that we hung inside our front door.
And to finish off the decorations: a garland around the breakfast bar.
Our little apartment looks so festive and happy right now! We turned off the lights before bed last night and sat on the couch for awhile with the Christmas tree lit. It was so peaceful and made me so joyful looking forward to all the Christmases we will get to celebrate together over the years.
